Responsibilities

Summary:

The New York office of Epstein Becker & Green, P.C. seeks experienced Billing Coordinator. The Billing Coordinator is responsible for generating client invoices and working closely with several attorneys and staff to ensure that invoices meet the established standards for content, timeliness, and format. In addition to the primary responsibilities listed below, the individual is also responsible for miscellaneous Finance Department functions.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of client terms, discount arrangements, lawyer and client preferences while managing the complete billing process for assigned billing responsible attorneys
  • Produce firm standard billing proformas for review by billing responsible attorneys each month
  • Edit and finalize invoices based on instructions provided by the billing responsible attorneys and client guidelines; maintain and update billing instructions in Elite 3E.
  • Submit electronic invoices via e-billing guidelines; monitor submitted invoices to confirm acceptance, appeal rejections, add timekeepers for rate approvals, appeal rejections
  • Respond to information requests from lawyers, clients and staff related to client billings
  • Follow-up with billing responsible attorneys to ensure timely processing of bills
  • Research proformas or billing-related inquiries
  • Produce monthly statements for outstanding invoices and send same to clients

Education Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required

Experience Required:

  • 5+ years in similar position
  • Law firm or professional services experience preferred

Skills Required:

  • Must be proficient in 3E Financial System, e-Billing Hub and Paperless Proforma.
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong experience with a wide array of e-billing vendors, including but not limited to: Legal Exchange, Serengeti, Counsel Link, Chubb, Tymetrix as well as LEDES file knowledge
  • Ability to demonstrate self-motivation and ownership of assigned work
  • Ability to interact with legal and administrative personnel
  • Ability to keep Billing Supervisor informed of all billing issues
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage numerous initiatives and activities simultaneously in a fast-paced, demanding environment
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

 

Qualifications

The expected salary range for this position ranges from $90,000-$105,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and where applicable, licensure or certification obtained. Market and Firm factors are also considered. In addition to the base salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.

Pay Range

USD $90,000.00 - USD $105,000.00 /Yr.
